Communication is one of our strongest assets. We check in with each other and come together stronger with more love after any conflicts.
We would like to thank you for supporting Yvonne and Rachel in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our beginning was nothing special - a mutual swipe on an app. I came out as a late bloomer lesbian & was nervous. I was drawn to her smile and eyes, she was drawn to my picture of holding a chicken with a goofy grin on my face. We describe our love as a “slow burn” - gradual romance with simmering tension leading to a deep love and admiration for each other that neither of us have experienced in prior romantic relationships.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? For our first multi-night trip together, we booked a stay at a meditation stupa & planned to visit hot springs. Very zen, very demure. When we left, we tried to cram too much in. We both worked full days, had to drop off our dogs at sitters, finish packing, & drive 5 hours to our destination. After 20 mins, the stress caused Rachel to vomit & me to have diarrhea on the side of the road. Def not what we’d planned, but we got through it together & somehow still find each other attractive!
What would you do with $20,000?*We just got engaged 7/6/25!!* and we are totally overwhelmed with wedding costs. We want to share our love with our friends and family but the cost is daunting. We’d also love to visit the Maldives, where we hope there is less diarrhea and vomit involved.
