Against all odds, our short engagement of only 105 days has lasted 30 years with my best friend!

We met fighting a house fire as volunteer firefighters. He was on the hose alone; I jumped in to back him up. Later, he said, “I looked back and thought, ‘That’s either a female or a guy with really pretty eyes.’” All you could see were my eyes through the gear. That fire sparked more than flames—it sparked love. From fire scenes to wedding vows, our story began in smoke and turned into something fireproof.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our best memories as a couple come from real moments - traveling to new places, sharing quiet mornings with coffee, supporting each other through life's ups and downs, and building a life we're proud of. It's not about the grand gestures, but about knowing we're in it together, every step of the way!
What would you do with $20,000?Minor upgrades to our retirement home and then a wonderful train trip across Canada or some other amazing journey together. Traveling together as best friends is the most peaceful, fun and exciting times!
