Connect How did your love story begin?

Our story began when we were five years old and attended the same school. After kindergarten, Wade moved away, but we reconnected at 17 while working together at a country club. We remained friends until we found each other again at 21 and dated for nine months. We weren't ready yet and had a lot of growing to do. Wade moved to Hawaii for 10 years, but through the grace of God, sobriety, and AA, we found our way back to each other. Today we're still sober, still growing, and building our future.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Elisa and Wade’s favorite memories came during one of life’s hardest moments. Elisa spent a week in the hospital battling pneumonia and bronchitis, barely able to get out of bed. Every single day, Wade showed up with treats, updates about their dog, and stories to make her smile. He never missed a visit. When she finally came home, he continued caring for her until she was healthy again. In that difficult week, Elisa saw what true love looks like: showing up, staying present, and never leaving.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use the money to help pay for the wedding we've dreamed of and celebrate the incredible journey that brought us here. After finding our way back to each other through sobriety, faith, and personal growth, we've spent the last 3½ years building a stable and loving life together. We've purchased a home, adopted a dog, and created a future we're proud of. This gift would allow us to celebrate with the family and friends who supported us and helped us become who we are today. ❤️
