Connect How did your love story begin?

Tristan and Trenton met in addiction’s haze, a spark in the dark. As love grew, so did the void, and they lost each other. A year later, sobriety brought them back, step by step. They rediscovered wonder beneath the waves, mermaiding, finding magic in sobriety, and in each other, anew.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories was the adventure of driving all the way from Florida to Canada to be part of the Brockville Aquatarium’s Mermaid Showcase. Mile after mile, excitement grew until we finally arrived and stepped into a world that felt made for us. Performing together for over 15,000 people was unforgettable—every smile, every splash, every moment underwater felt magical. It reminded us that sobriety gave us more than a new life; it gave us adventures beyond our dreams.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, we would expand our reach through mermaiding and bring more magic, creativity, and whimsy to children and adults in our community. This funding would allow us to create more opportunities for mermaid classes, interactive experiences, and community outreach programs that inspire imagination and connection. It would help us grow access, reach more families, and share the joy, wonder, and confidence-building experiences that mermaiding brings both in and out of the water.
