Connect How did your love story begin?

Jeff and I met the least glamorous way possible—unloading trucks at a giant retail store, sweaty, tired, and just trying to pay our bills. Somewhere between flying boxes and goofing off on the clock, we became best friends. I was six years older, previously married, and came with two little girls; Jeff, apparently, didn’t scare easily. What started as friendship turned into the kind of love neither of us saw coming, and somehow that messy little job gave me my person.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Last year’s road trip was one for the books—laughing through sea-level hikes like true Coloradans, standing in awe of the magic of the Redwoods, and ending with the joy of Disney. One of our funniest memories was braving San Francisco traffic in search of famous houses: we found the Full House house, spotted one close enough to Mrs. Doubtfire, then escaped the chaos and called it a win.

What would you do with $20,000?

Jeff and I would use the funds to pay off major home renovations we've had to finance over the years. We currently have a second mortgage from our concrete project, as well as a loan for new siding that we'd like to pay off as soon as possible. Eliminating these debts would ease our financial burden and allow us to focus on building a more secure future.
