How did your love story begin?

A Snowball to the Head! We met on Match.com Both 34 and had never married. Maybe we were both wondering if we'd ever find "the one." To be honest, during those first few dates, I wasn't really into him. He seemed more like a guy friend not someone I'd fall in love with. One "let's hang out" led to another. Then came a snowy night after a show he hit me in the head with a snowball. 20 years of love, laughter and romance. Turns out that snowball was right on target and a perfect match we are.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

2020, a year of change. With a planned safari set for August, we were heading to Africa. Then our world changed. Covid postponed our journey, then in 2021 Rick was diagnosed with a rare nasal cancer. Months of traveling from NY to Houston for treatment. Africa became our celebration journey.  In 2024 we sat at our tent in the Maasai Mara holding hands (no words), realizing how much we carried each other. The beauty of an approaching storm across the plains allowed us to finally exhale.

What would you do with $20,000?

After adulting and putting a little bit of the money back into our house, we'd love to return to Africa and donate and visit the Sheldrick elephant sanctuary. To once again 4 years post cancer, and sit and watch those storms roll across the plains, hold hands and celebrate our love, would be an exclamation point as we celebrate our 20th year of marriage. Together we beat cancer. Every chapter makes us stronger.
