On a dating app: Joe’s profile was photos, highlighting his relationship with his son, while Tracey’s profile was words & descriptions, yet, Tracey was the one who messaged first (which says a lot because she’s a language teacher; his photos spoke for themselves). When Joe wrote about bands like A Certain Ratio & Section 25, Tracey was sold. And then the 3-hour daily phone conversations ensued. We met in person a few days later and both quickly recognized that this person felt just like home.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Joe is a history buff, particularly that of the American West. As he was reading a book about this, he learned about a Baltimore-born painter, Alfred Jacob Miller, one of the first artists to paint American Indians. Joe was telling Miller’s story to Tracey, a native Baltimorean, and she wanted to know about his Baltimore connection. She researched where he is buried- in her family's cemetery! We blindly found his grave, realizing that mutual interests allow us to accomplish a lot, as a team.
What would you do with $20,000?Use it for a down-payment on a house because we are both public servants: Joe works with the Department of Housing and Community Development and Tracey is a public school teacher.
