How did your love story begin?

Our story began in a Yahoo chat room. After chatting online for weeks, he wanted my phone number, but I made him earn it. I created a riddle with my phone number hidden in the clues, and he figured it out. After a few phone calls, he drove 80 miles to my house with flowers. We went to dinner and a movie, and the rest is history. He proposed on Leap Day, February 29, 2004, and we married June 5, 2004—so we’d never forget the date! (06/05/04)

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite adventures was chasing waterfalls across Tennessee. Armed with a map, determination, and a sense of adventure, we set out to find as many as we could. Some required long hikes, steep trails, and more than a few wrong turns, but every challenge was worth it. By the end of our journey, we’d discovered 16 breathtaking waterfalls. The memories weren’t just in the destinations—they were in the laughter, teamwork, and shared wonder along the way.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use the $20,000 to update and preserve the home that has been part of our story for more than 21 years. Built by my husband, it’s filled with family memories and means much more to us than just a house. We’d remodel both the inside and outside, giving it new life while honoring its history. We’d also take a special trip together, creating new memories while continuing the love story that began with a riddle, a bouquet of flowers, and an 80-mile drive.
