Our story began a few years after Tom returned from Vietnam. We were so young, but we instantly fit. My dad grew to love him like a son and gave Tom his blessing before passing away unexpectedly in Africa 2 months before our wedding. I was a 19-year-old bride wrapped in grief, but this Purple Heart vet became my rock. Exactly 53 years later, we’ve been married longer than my dad lived. Through it all, we still choose to hold hands, love, laugh, and share life's adventures.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our 2 children being born!Most recent, are memories we've made on the ocean. After over half a century together, nothing compares to the magic of standing on a ship deck, watching the sea change colors at sunset, and exploring the world side-by-side. Away from the rest of the world on those long voyages, we are always reminded of just how far we’ve come. Through every beautiful destination and every calm sea, we look out at the endless horizon and simply cherish the incredible journey we share.
What would you do with $20,000?After 53 years of marriage, we’ve learned the value of practical choices. If we won, we’d put that $20,000 toward smart, sensible priorities—taking care of home updates and giving us some peace of mind for future plans. We’d use whatever is left to fund our next trip as we continue discovering new places together. Since we’ve only just begun traveling in this chapter of our lives, having that extra boost to explore somewhere new while keeping our foundation secure would mean a lot.
