Connect How did your love story begin?

We like to say the universe played a part in making sure we wouldn’t miss each other. When we met, we were trying our luck with a dating app. As time went on and we didn’t find connection with others, we both decided to delete the app. However, just as we were going to give up, we happened to match! We had our first date after about a month of texting daily. Despite us being a little awkward and shy at first, we got comfortable quickly, and knew pretty much then that we were the real deal!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

In 2023, CJ found an unusual growth on his body. After going to the doctor, he was told a biopsy was needed. This was very scary for him, as his family has been sadly impacted by cancer his whole life. Thankfully, his results came back negative for cancer! Although it was a big relief, he was still shaken up. Due to this, I left school that day and went to surprise him and give him some support. That day led us to discuss more serious matters and solidify how much love we have for each other.

What would you do with $20,000?

It is a lot of money, and we could use it for so many things! Our first instinct would be to use some to pay for our wedding. We got engaged in November and quickly found out having a wedding is very expensive (especially if you have big families), so being able to take some weight off our shoulders and enjoy wedding planning sounds pretty great! We also know this amount would really help us in other ways, so we would probably split it up to save as emergency funds, student debt payments, etc.
