How did your love story begin?

It was in 1970, the fall of the year. I arranged for a "double date" with myself, my best friend, my now husband, Dennis, and his brother. My best friend was interested in Dennis, so I would go out with the brother, even though I too was interested in Dennis. Well my plan worked and Dennis asked me out. Back on September 17, 1970 he kissed me for the first time. He recently told me that he knew right then an there I was the one for him. It took me a bit longer.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is a recent one. In 2023 we were married 50 years and my husband made my dreams come true. I had always wanted to take the cruise to the Hawaiian Islands. So we flew to Hawaii, spend a couple of days exploring Honolulu, then got aboard ship and spent the next 8 days cruising the islands, taking amazing excursions, and then spend another week on Oahu relaxing, going to lots of amazing sites, eating wonderful food. It was a dream come true for us with the love of our life.

What would you do with $20,000?

We have both worked very hard our entire lives and have always tried to be frugal. I think we would use it to purchase a new car. My car is a 2010 w/ 190,000 miles on it. We are trying to save to purchase my last car I will every buy. It would be wonderful to not have to worry about the price and get my ideal car, with all the bells and whistles.
