How did your love story begin?

Meeting at work, Deborah and I already had a wonderful working relationship. Then, after working together for about a year, that working relationship grew into the best friendship I have ever known. While in Jamaica for her birthday, Deborah called to check on me. I told her Happy Birthday and that I was sorry I did not have a gift for her. She told me that it was ok and that I could buy her a drink once she gets back. I told her I would do one better and take her to dinner.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

That first dinner with Deborah upon her return from Jamaica, is absolutely the favorite memory for me. We drove separately so she arrived first, waiting out front for me. Walking up and seeing her, I felt an overwhelming sense of home. It was as if in that moment, my soul awakened. The look on her face once she saw me, made it clear that it was the same for her. During dinner it was like catching up with someone you haven't seen in a lifetime, we have been together ever since.

What would you do with $20,000?

With Deborah and I both working in social services, her as a victim advocate for the police, and myself as a Case Manager for our City's homeless population, we rarely take this question into consideration, mainly because our day to day is focused on how to positively impact the lives of others. First, I feel lowering our debt-to-income ratio is important in order to broaden our possibilities for the future. Donating the rest to programs we utilize to help others just makes sense.
