Kara and Don’s friendship started when she moved into house with his sister. Convinced that Don was a great catch, Kara began trying to set him up with one of her friends. Kara didn’t know that Don had his eyes on her. Before long, they began spending more time together. They naturally gravitated toward each other’s company. They took the leap and made things official. They realized that deep, unbreakable friendship they had wasn't just a part of their love story it was the foundation of it.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?There isn't one singular favorite memory as a couple. There's hundreds if not thousands of wonderful memories. Each day that Kara gave birth to our 3 wonderful daughters, the day we adopted our 4 sons, Kara's awful puns, Don singing along to Whitesnake in the car at the top of his lungs, or purposefully embarrassing the kids in public. There's just too many to pick only one as a favorite.
What would you do with $20,000?After 26 years of marriage, 4 years being a military family with 1 deployment to Afghanistan and 22 years of being a police officer with 7 kids, we have only taken 1 vacation as a couple. That was in 2009 for our 10 year anniversary. We have always talked about saving up for a trip to Ireland or Scotland. This would take care of that and allow us to not worry about finances while away from home.
