Connect How did your love story begin?

I was a podcast host in London; he was a guest in Cleveland — a motivational speaker with a story I couldn't stop thinking about. We talked every single day for three months on FaceTime, oceans and a country apart, never once in the same room. Then we leapt anyway — moving to Palm Springs together having only ever seen each other through a screen. We built a cat café from scratch, and he now leads public engagement for a child rescue nonprofit. Second chances, twice over.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We once drove to the Grand Canyon — and drove right past it. The actual Grand Canyon. One of the largest holes on the planet, and we missed it because we were too busy talking to each other. Ten miles down the road, one of us finally said, "Wait... did we just drive past the Grand Canyon?" We turned around eventually, but it remains one of our favorite memories because somehow we never ran out of things to say.

What would you do with $20,000?

We'd invest the $20,000 into the work we're already doing through our cat café and rescue efforts while taking the first steps toward our long-term dream: the Von Cleveland Sanctuary, a future home for senior and special-needs cats — the ones who are often the hardest to place and the easiest to overlook. Frisky Business Palm Springs Cat Cafe was built on second chances, and we'd love to use this opportunity to create even more of them.
