How did your love story begin?

Our love story began at the end of college. We had been friends when she invited me to be her date at a friend's wedding. We danced the night away, and realized we had a spark. We decided to go on our first formal date. We saw a bad movie, but we didn't care because we had a new budding romance. I was moving away so we had the summer to figure out if this was "real." We moved in together 6 months later and the rest is history.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory was our biggest challenge. Erica was diagnosed with breast cancer at the start of covid, so our internal and external worlds were upended. We have 3 children so we decided we had no choice but to beat this thing. Each new day brought us closer together and another day closer to being cancer free. We went through all of the treatments, late night sickness and recovery together. We were married 15 years at that time, and it solidified our relationship even more.

What would you do with $20,000?

We just started a life dream of ours to open an ice cream shop. It is going well so far, but the $20,000 would help us make our ice cream shop even stronger. We would use it to market to breast cancer wings, educators, first responders and police officers. I'm sure we would take a small weekend trip, but the rest would be used to kickstart our communication and impact with those groups.
