At a dance where my friend and I were standing behind two ladies, the one I noticed had long, beautiful brown hair past her waist. So I told my friend I’m gonna ask her dance. Well, my friend jumped right up and asked her to dance, so I asked the girl next to her to dance. It only took one dance and then I was dancing with Kathy. We took long walks and love to go to movies. Love was in the air!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Working together as a unit wherever we were. Living in many remote villages in rural Alaska, learning how to cope with our surrounding area, learning to love native Alaskans while teaching school. Not being afraid to try new things. Our food motto is ‘try everything at least twice’. Because of our adventures and our motto, we have been able to digest some wonderfully, out of the ordinary, tasty meals.
What would you do with $20,000?We would take our entire family on a Mexican Riviera cruise. Our family is spread across the United States and it will be great to get them all together on a fun cruise ship. There are 22 of us. We have five sons and they have five wonderful mates and we have 12 granddaughters and two grandsons. Our grandchildren ages range from 23 years old to two years old. Our family is very important to us, and we don’t see them enough.
