Jed and Charlotte grew up 6 blocks from each other in a small farm community in Nebraska. Despite Jed turning down Charlotte's advances in 5th grade, Freshman year solidified their friendship. Charlotte originally played wingman when her friend, Jenny, expressed interest in Jed. It was one afternoon of hanging out in Jenny's basement and delivering the worst "dam" jokes 2001 had ever heard, Jed quickly realized he was more interested in her and they have been hanging out ever since.

She competitively danced all through high school and had parents that did not attend performances. Honestly, it would all go toward Jed's medical school debt. Jed and Charlotte are both first generation college graduates who come from very humble beginnings. Jed knew from a very young age he wanted to help people. Despite working hard to graduate at the top of his high school class, president of his college class, medical school, and chief resident at his family medicine residency, education loans had to be taken out to achieve his goal. This is a small help for serving the greater good.
