We met on a train platform when I asked her for directions. I had no idea the woman who helped me find my way would one day trust me to become her eyes. Seven months later we were engaged, married within two years, and have now spent 28 years raising three children, building a life together, overcoming adversity, and proving that love grows stronger when two people refuse to quit on each other. We didn't just find love that day—we found home.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We took our honeymoon cross-country in a Jeep on the way to our first duty station. We stopped somewhere new almost every day, chasing little adventures instead of a destination. We explored mountains, deserts, and small towns hand in hand, discovering that the best part of every place was simply experiencing it together. Our favorite stop was the Grand Canyon, where we watched the sunset from the rim with no one else around. Just the two of us, beginning the greatest adventure of our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?For 28 years we've invested in each other. We'd use this gift to invest in our youngest daughter's education and technology that gives my wife greater independence. Winning wouldn't just change our lives—it would help us continue building the future we've been creating together since that chance meeting on a train platform.
