He’s Scottish. I’m American. Challenges (immigration, growing up, etc.) have been many…but great times (and 3 kids later!) have been more!
We would like to thank you for supporting The Scotts in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met in a bar on St. Patrick’s Day in Des Moines, IA. I was working as a tennis instructor, he was on a soccer scholarship. I had been out with friends and decided to go for one more on my own before heading home. Next thing I knew some guy I could barely understand was talking to me! He asked for my number (which I drew with a sharpie on the entire length of his arm), but wouldn’t tell him my name. I told him if he was still interested in a few days I would tell him my name…he was and I did!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Far too many to pick one!!! Skype “dates” the year he was home in Scotland as we figured out how to get him back and going back to Scotland to get married once we did, doing our signature “penguin dance” at every wedding, becoming parents 3x over, going to couples counseling and coming out stronger, “family snuggle” nights with our 3 girls, and so many more!
What would you do with $20,000?Again, hard to pick! Probably first plan another trip back to Scotland to see all of our family and friends (otherwise it will probably be 2 years from now). One of our dreams is adding on to our 110 year old house so we can keep making memories with family and friends in the home we love. So probably put some to that!!
