How did your love story begin?

Our story began in the Summer of 1968, I was a college student taking my parents up to the Borscht Belt for their annual 2 week vacation..It was a Sunday, 3rd week in July and I had to turn around and get back to the City for Summer School classes. I was to return the following Friday for the weekend. Alan had just gotten out of the Marine Corps having spent a year in Vietnam. He worked as a waiter. What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

I was an only daughter going to college & dating a doctor at the time. My Mother was absolutely against my relationship with a waiter. Alan and I barely had any dates. He worked the mountains until September after Rosh Hashana and I went back to school. In Nov. on a phone call, he asked me to marry him, and surprisingly I said yes. My Mother refused to make or come to the wedding.We married in Jan after 5 1/2 mth 30 yrs. of marriage she finally said “You’re much too good for her.” It was great.

What would you do with $20,000?

We have had a wonderful 57 years. Next month, we will have met 58 years ago. We’ve had hard times, both financially and emotionally. We lost a daughter in July of 2022 at the age of 47. It was devastating, but we continued our lives. Alan is an amateur harness driver and is the winningest driver in the US and I’ve been teaching aerobics for 24 yrs since we moved right back to where it started- in the borscht belt. We would love to take my son, his family and us on a glorious trip together.
