After 19 years of marriage and a 15 year age difference we are roommates in a nursing home. We are forever.
We would like to thank you for supporting The Rileys in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Oddly enough we met in an online chatroom. From the start we felt like we had always known each other. First it was online chats, then all night phone calls. Lastly a face to face meeting and after six hours a marriage proposal. Two months after our face to face meeting we were married in my home church. No fancy wedding was needed, just family. Our reception was the local Hardees drive through. After my second stroke I needed to be put in a nursing home and my Michael has been right beside me.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? After the second stroke I had to be placed in a nursing home and because Michael is blind and on dialysis he chose to be in the nursing home with me. We are roommates and in 2024 we renewed our wedding vows showing that in sickness and health we still hold to each other.
What would you do with $20,000?We would like to help our niece, Savannah, who just graduated a year early, pay for her college education. She wants to become a ultrasound technician. with the rest just improve our circumstances at the nursing home .
