We met in a high school ceramics class, but didn’t become friends until after Graham got back from a deployment. I (Lilian) felt a strong urge to take care of him and be his friend, even though I had no reason to. After 9 months and lots of crazy events, we started dating. A year and three months after that we got engaged, and we plan on getting married in less than 6 months!

One weekend Graham wasn’t feeling the best. Since I (Lilian) went to a large SEC school, I invited him to a tailgate. He came and we had a blast. I am not a huge sports person, but that tailgate made me feel like I was missing out on something. Graham had a blast sneaking into peoples tents and we ended up getting burritos after. We were just friends then, but that day made us closer.

It would be a down payment on a house that our future children could grow up in. If we don’t find a house or our careers take us elsewhere, it will be saved for the day we can finally settle down. We both have crazy careers, so having something we can count on would be such a relief. In all honesty, this would be such a great opportunity for us to be able to survive in this economy as two young career people.
