Before swiping existed, eHarmony brought us together. We Met, Married, Moved, and had a baby all in year one. We are 20 years strong.
We would like to thank you for supporting The Odoms in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
At 28, still single and with one week left on my free eHarmony trial, I took a chance on a match from Colorado. When he didn't respond, I sent the first message. By pure luck, he saw it in an email account he rarely checked. That leap of faith led to a marriage, a cross-country move, two kids, and 20 years of proving opposites really do attract.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? My favorite memory isn't a single moment, it's our entire first year together. We met on eHarmony and married just 10 months later while dating long distance. In our first year of marriage, I moved from Long Island to Colorado, we welcomed our son just 9 months after the wedding, and at the same time Darren lost his job and decided to start his own company. We figured if we could survive all that, we could survive anything. Nearly 20 years later, I'd say we were right.
What would you do with $20,000?With our kids almost grown and out of the house, we're dreaming about our next chapter together. We'd use the $20,000 toward an electric camper van tall enough for Darren's 6'6" frame so we can hit the road and explore. We've always loved traveling and spending time together, and it would be so sweet to spend this stage of our lives making new memories, seeing new places, and enjoying the adventure together.
