Like many great ones - as friends. I dated all his friends first before realizing this funny, charismatic "friend" wasn't really a friend. I also developed a very committed weekly pizza habit - always, mysteriously, during his delivery shift. I never wanted the pizza. Then the senior Valentine's Day auction: Evan's bid for a date with me - "$25.00…or whatever it takes." I still have that bid. Four years long distance, Columbia to Penn State, every two weeks. 48k miles later the rest is history!

So many! Traveling the world, two kids, NYC, our beach house on LBI. But one stands out: backpacking Europe right after graduation. Five weeks, no cell phones - just a Eurail pass, a backpack, and each other. Twenty minutes in, I dropped our ticket into the train's air vent (the hard copy we needed to continue), and an elderly Italian couple handed us their nail file to break it open and rescue it. Doing it that young, before careers and kids, made it ours. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

What we should do: pay back the retirement deduction I took to start my company, The Fashion Tech Exec, in 2025 - huge thank-you to Evan for backing that dream with zero guilt or regrets. What we'd actually do? Save some, donate to Retail Women in Tech - the nonprofit I tirelessly support and love - then blow the rest on beach house upgrades (custom room-darkening shades!) and the Paris trip our kids keep lobbying for. We should get their passports in order...or maybe it ends up a couples trip!
