How did your love story begin?

At a cancer benefit for my best friend, I went and introduced myself to Bobby, my tattoo artist’s best friend. He was always just a name but when we met, he instantly knew I was the one. I, who had gone through cancer myself, struggled through the event and introduced myself out of courtesy, never expecting anything to happen. When I heard he had been asking about me, I was excited but worried about our mixing of families, lives, and everything in between but our honeymoon phase never left.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We went to San Antonio, Texas for Bobby who had nationals for powerlifting. While down there, we walked the riverwalk and it was like a lower earth. Magical doesn’t even begin to describe it. Due to us having kids, which is magical itself, getting that alone time was something that doesn’t happen often. Walking the river, holding one another’s hand, talking with knowing it’s just us and the space around us, it was beautiful and unforgettable. Every memory with one another is worth making.

What would you do with $20,000?

Honestly we would pay our bills. We both have kids, some grown, but three young living at home that we take care of. I, Cheryl, am in school for my master’s and pay school bills, for me and my two kids in college, home bills, and utilities. Bobby does the same thing minus the school bills. So in complete honesty, the $20,000 would be insanely helpful to get my kids and I through school, Bobby through his bills, my youngest new clothes and everything for school coming up. We would be so grateful.
