Connect How did your love story begin?

We matched on a dating app. After a few hilarious conversations, I looked him up online. To my surprise, he had a horrendous reputation following his reality TV stint. We had many video chat dates, and I agreed to meet thinking it would just be a funny story. We hit it off immediately. He ordered a Nutella croissant. We walked around a park and pretended to join an ongoing 5K. We walked into a science museum and operated a printing press. We both didn’t want the date to end.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It is so difficult to pick a single memory. This man makes breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day as he supports me in my career as a physician. One day, he told me he packed one of my favorite foods, and it was just a dry low carb tortilla in a baggie (because that’s something I would eat by choice at home, like girl dinner). Another time, he packed me a ridiculously long spoon to eat my yogurt. He sends pictures of the pets while I am at work. He makes me laugh even when we are apart.

What would you do with $20,000?

Right now our primary focus has been on our infertility journey. Even with insurance coverage, a single IVF cycle exceeds the cost covered, including many out of network or out of pocket costs. The money would be nice reassurance in case we encounter more hurdles as we progress through treatment. Bringing attention to this topic is so important to us because, in comparison to how many couples are affected, it seems to be discussed so little, with many people dealing with this issue alone.
