Our love story began while working on a social justice campaign. A few months later, Renny invited me (Stephanie) to a panel discussion where he was a panel speaker. After hearing him share his journey and passion for justice, I became interested in getting to know him better. We soon discovered a shared love for God, family, and serving others. What started through advocacy grew into a friendship, then a deep and lasting love built on faith, trust, and purpose.

Our favorite memory as a couple was celebrating at the Knicks Championship Parade dressed as a bride and groom in Knicks apparel. When people asked if we had gotten married that day, Renny yelled out, “We’ve been engaged for 53 years and today we’re marrying the championship!” It was a playful metaphor for the Knicks’ 53-year title drought, but the story took on a life of its own throughout the parade. Winning 20,000 would allow us to invest in the future we are building together while expanding the positive impact we strive to make in the lives of others. A portion would help us create lasting memories as newlyweds and strengthen our foundation as a couple. Another portion would support the social justice and community work that brought us together and continues to be a shared passion today.
