Connect How did your love story begin?

I had just said “yes” to Jesus only three months before I met Jason at church, fittingly. The spark wasn’t lit until about six months later when we helped each other shoot self-tapes. We went to lunch afterwards and over sandwiches, he blurted out across the table, “God says you’re the flower, and I’m the bee.” That night I went to a gathering of believers and a woman walked up to me, and the first thing she said was, “God says you’re the flower,” but even then, I tried to deny it for weeks …

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Jason and I were married in our backyard on 12/3 (‘22) and had sensed a special connection to Psalm 1:2-3, which says the person who meditates on God’s Word is like a tree planted by living water. Six-months pregnant we had to switch providers, and when we checked out a birth center in Simi Valley I asked God for a sign. There was a tree carving on the desk, and while we were there a friend texted me the verse. The day Rio was born (9/23/23) a mural of a tree was completed on the wall there.

What would you do with $20,000?

In 2019 our church inherited a food ministry along with two buildings in the heart of Hollywood where they serve roughly 63,000 meals a year, offer showers to over 200 people a month, and distribute more than 1700 boxes of food each week to surrounding communities. The only problem is these buildings are 90 years old and barely functional with leaking roofs and sinking floors. We would be so blessed to contribute the $20K to the renovation campaign so we can continue to serve the City of Angels.
