Connect How did your love story begin?

A TikTok interaction turned into a cute DM, then five days of deep phone conversations. So much happened in those days — future visions, shooting stars, raw truths. Wanting to confirm it was real, I rushed home from a family visit in Jamaica, and Justin drove 12 hours from Atlanta to Fort Worth for our first date. Over tacos and agua fresca, we confirmed our love was real — and would return six months later to celebrate our elopement over those same spicy bites and Texas streets.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our second date happened at a (now defunct) piano bar. The place was packed, and somehow we found two bar stools waiting for us right in the middle of it all. We stared into each other's eyes all night, drowned in fluorescent disco lights, singing karaoke as the bartenders kept the free shooters and jello shots coming. Then "Any Man of Mine" by Shania Twain came on the keys — the exact song I wanted to request but was too nervous to ask for. It was magical.

What would you do with $20,000?

We eloped, and while beautiful, it was chaotic — our photographer and hair stylist cancelled last minute, but our best friends filled in and made it the best day of our lives. Now we want to make our dream wedding a reality: a destination celebration in Jamaica, surrounded by family and friends. Hosting it there means my dad can attend, and both families can share in the warm, restorative, and vibrant culture the island offers. We're aiming for 2028, though we haven't started planning yet.
