We would like to thank you for supporting The Harpers in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our paths aligned but never intersected until 2021, when God promised we would find true love again after divorce and cancer loss. But how? His answer: “Go to Facebook.” Not a dating app—a Christian group. After joining 2 groups, a little investigating and plenty of mutual page-snooping led to a first conversation that lasted SEVEN hours. Through pandemic dating, God confirmed His promise: “The one will wait,” and it was worth the wait. We’ve never known love like this!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?As newlyweds, we embarked on a life-changing mission trip to Harare, Zimbabwe. Side by side, we served local villages by helping demolish a church for a new build, fed young students, assisted in medical clinics, cleaned foster homes, taught lessons, and painted school rooms. Along the way, we embraced the rich culture and built meaningful connections. The experience deepened our faith, strengthened our marriage, and reminded us that our best adventures happen when we serve others together.
What would you do with $20,000?Winning would allow us to create cherished memories on a dream family trip to Hawaii, very meaningful as Tee courageously battles cancer and turns 50 next year. The remaining funds would help establish a scholarship or support program for families facing challenges we know firsthand, including cancer, premature birth, sickle cell disease, TBIs, and mental health. Our journey has taught us the power of faith, resilience, and community, and we hope to turn our blessings into hope for others.
