Connect How did your love story begin?

What started as simple conversations turned into hours of talking every day at work, even when one of us was coming in and the other was supposed to be leaving. We quickly realized there was something special between us and started dating. It wasn’t always easy. Coming from a religious family brought stress, fear, and heartbreak, and there were moments we almost lost each other. But our love was stronger than the challenges. We found our way back to one another and built a family rooted in love.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory as a couple has to be our New Year’s trip to New York. We were broke and couldn’t afford a hotel, so we stayed at Grandma’s house and happily ate her cooking. Even without much money, we had the best time. We explored the city, experienced a winter wonderland, rode the train together, and made memories we’ll never forget. That trip reminded us that the best moments aren’t about how much you spend, but who you’re sharing them with. We had each other, and that was enough.

What would you do with $20,000?

To many people, $20,000 is just money. To us, it’s hope. As a married LGBTQ+ couple, our greatest dream is becoming parents. Our journey has been filled with love, but also challenges. Because we are a same-sex couple, IVF and donor sperm are necessary, creating a heavy financial burden. Ashley has battled PCOS and have experienced the heartbreak of two miscarriages. We want to build a family rooted in love, acceptance, and healing. Winning would help us continue IVF and build our family.
