Irene was the Office Manager for the Austin Advertising Federation when Mark became its President. After Mark decided to shave his head, Irene decided she wanted to have his babies. Their first date was seeing School of Rock on its opening weekend. Less than a week later, Mark proposed, and Irene accepted (after all, he did have a better last name and health insurance!). They were married 6 weeks later, and will celebrate 23 years together this fall.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?As we had a super-speedy engagement, we decided to have two cakes made - one for the wedding, one for Mark's birthday the following day. We wanted it to look like we just grabbed the only two cakes left at the bakery, so there was a chocolate cake that read "Congratulations on Your Bar Mitzvah, Joel!" and a white cake that said "Happy Birthday, Caitlin!" It was hilarious and set the stage for our relationship.
What would you do with $20,000?Mark wants to use the money to pay down my student loan debt, while Irene wants a makeover and to take a trip to Iceland. TBH, we’ll pay for our son’s new hearing aids before anything else.
