20 yrs and 3 kids. But our marriage truly blossomed 5 yrs ago when my husband made the decision to get sober and we fell in love again.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
We met in 2006. There was an instant connection, but life came at us faster than we planned. We welcomed our first child by the end of 2007 and married in 2010. We both came from broken homes, so healthy love did not come easy for us. I like to say the first 15 years of our relationship were trial and LOTS of error. But 3 kids and 20 years in we can finally say we’ve figured out what a healthy love looks like. Finding that spark we had in the beginning hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? In 2021, Jason made the decision to get sober. It was my favorite and hardest year ever bc we were finally facing our problems instead of avoiding or numbing them. But we gained so much clarity throughout that year. I watched him become a better person, a better husband, and a better dad. We both found ourselves that year. And in that, we found each other again. It felt like falling in love with someone all over again. Every memory we made after that year feels like our best memory ever.
What would you do with $20,000?After sobriety, Jason had a lot of clarity around his life choices, including his career in IT. He wanted to go back to law school. We made the decision to close my business and be a stay at home mom so he could continue to work, and go to law school at night. We went from two incomes to one, and have sacrificed a lot over the last 3 years, including family vacations. It would be amazing to pay off some of his school debt or even put something towards a well deserved family vacation.
