We met in high school. I was 15 and he was 17. He was helping coach powderpuff football and I was playing. That’s when we were introduced. I remember he used to cut in front of me in the lunchline and I let him because I was smitten. We didn’t begin dating until June of the next year, 1989. He was leaving for college in a couple months but we both just knew this was forever. During his years away at college we wrote letters, we still have a stack of them. We were very young and in love.

Our favorite memory was when we found out we were pregnant with our first daughter. We had been trying for over a year at that point. Previous to trying, I had a health scare that threatened my ability to carry a child. Thankfully it turned out for the better and we didn’t want to wait to have a baby. While trying I had another diagnosis that made conceiving much harder. But on the day we found out, the pregnancy test FINALLY showed two lines! We screamed and cried together!

Oh boy! Maybe we should save it for a wedding. We have 3 daughters and we expect to have to help pay for a wedding sometime soon, hopefully. But if we can do something for just us, we would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to travel to Europe and finally fly first class for the first time!!! We will be married for 33 years this summer and maybe we can celebrate with this trip!
