How did your love story begin?

We have known each other since we were in preschool- at 3 years old. We were always friends-Joey and I, as were our families. We grew up in the same small town and went through school together. We went our separate ways through college and ended up marrying other people. Subsequently after we both went through divorces we reconnected after 20 years. Joey became an amazing stepdad to my beautiful son, Daniel- age 11, who has ASD and is gifted.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The night we got engaged was New Year’s Eve, which also was the same day we first said “I love you” to each other years earlier. I had prepared by giving the ring to the bartender to bring it when I asked for the bill. Molly knew the proposal was coming- but didn’t know when. She almost ruined the surprise by becoming a little disappointed after I asked for the check, thinking it was not happening that night. Seconds later the bartender put the ring box on the bar, I proposed and she said yes!

What would you do with $20,000?

We were never able to have a proper honeymoon because we have been taking care of my father who has dementia. Also, Molly has a son through her first marriage- who is my stepson now- but he’s always wanted a sibling- and we want to have a baby! We are in the process of going through IVF treatments, and our insurance isn’t covering any of the treatments. We are paying out of pocket for everything. Winning this money would help our family make our dreams come true and have a solid foundation!
