Connect How did your love story begin?

Believe it or not, our story started on Facebook Dating. After each of us had our share of disappointing relationships, we decided to give love one more chance. Before scrolling, Hope made herself one promise: she wouldn't swipe right on anyone unless they shared mutual friends. Then Jacob's profile appeared. Not only did they have mutual friends, but he was connected to Hope's teacher bestie and even to the church where her mom worked. It felt like more than a coincidence—it was a sign!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

After losing her dad to undiagnosed diabetes, Hope began running 5Ks and 10Ks to heal through grief and prioritize her health. When she and Jacob started dating, he wasn't a runner—but he signed up anyway. He'd finish the race, then run back onto the course to find Hope and encourage her to the finish line. Their races became a reflection of their relationship: It's a reminder that the best journeys are the ones you don't have to run alone.

What would you do with $20,000?

We were married last summer and recently celebrated our first anniversary. Winning this would give us an incredible start to our future together. We would first use the money to pay off the individual debts we brought into our marriage, allowing us to begin this new chapter on stronger financial footing. Whatever remains would go directly into savings as we build a home, prepare for our future family, and continue creating the life we've always dreamed of together.
