In August of 2013, as a single father of two high school boys, Jim lost his 14-year-old son, Mitchell, to Sudden Cardiac Arrest at football practice. My world was torn apart and my grief, loneliness, and isolation were overwhelming. I struggled with also getting my older child through high school. 18 months later, we found each other on a dating site and fell in love. We were both is search of life partners and found each other.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We have traveled to many locations in the Caribbean (Jamaica, Antigua, Turks and Caicos, Aruba) and Europe. The traveling is what keeps us focused. The best trip was a cruise down the Rhine River (Switzerland to Amsterdam) for our 10 year anniversary in 2026. On a couple of trips, we included family to join us. My son Matt and her grown daughters. Tom many to list but we have had a grat many favorite memories.
What would you do with $20,000?We love to travel (obviously) and would love to put some of this into possibly a trip to Fiji. Otherwise, I sponsor an annual scholarship for a senior that has struggled every year in the (IEP) Individualized Education Plan and some of this would be to support that scholarship. I feel the kids in the IEPs are very often overlooked for scholarships and this is done in the memory of my son Mitchell that was also in the IEP. It is a very popular scholarship.
