"Childhood friends turned soulmates. Our differences strengthen us, our friendship grounds us, and our faith keeps us growing."
We would like to thank you for supporting The Browns in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met as children through church when I was 8 and he was 11. Through family, friends, and shared communities, our paths continued crossing for years. We lived separate lives, yet somehow always found our way back to one another. Even our children formed connections through mutual friends. What started as friendship grew into something deeper over time. Looking back, it feels like fate and faith were quietly guiding us toward the life we were always meant to build together.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory is traveling to Florida to get married. My husband has been afraid of heights since childhood, yet he got on a plane and even rode a roller coaster for me. On our flight home, severe weather kept us in the air while a tornado was happening below us. I stayed calm for him even though I was scared too. That trip reminded us that together we can face fears, trust each other, and get through anything life puts in our path.
What would you do with $20,000?We would use the money as a foundation for our family's future by purchasing land or putting a down payment on a home where we can build stability and create lasting memories. We would also invest in a home-based business to create generational opportunities for our children. Most importantly, we would continue finding ways to serve and give back to our community, because helping others has always been an important part of who we are as a family.
