35 years of marriage, we still can’t wait to spend every day together. We laugh, act goofy, support, praise, encourage and love each other.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
We were both 26 and teaching at a school for Learning Disabled students. At a holiday party during our first year teaching, the headmaster and his wife were dancing with each of us and then switched, intentionally putting us together on the dance floor. We wound up staying up all night talking and from that night on we were inseparable.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory was hiking MT. Katahdin, Knifes Edge in Maine. We were young and naive. We went with little water and wearing converse high top sneakers. We reached the Knife's Edge while conserving our water by taking little sips. Realizing the steepness, we nervously inched our way across. After completing the hike, we hugged each other and then soaked our aching feet in a cold stream. Then hobbled down to our lean-to and the next day treated ourselves to a hotel and hot shower.
What would you do with $20,000?We have always wanted to hike the Dolomites but my husband has had some health challenges. He is doing better and we would apply the 20,000 to our dream trip of exploring the region and hiking around the Dolomites. We both love to be active but also get immersed and learn about different areas around the world. This would be an incredible memory to experience a trip 25 years since the Mt. Katahdin one.
