We were true Starbucks lovers- Taran was a barista at the UH Manoa Starbucks, Kimi worked on campus. We noticed each other because of Star Wars- Taran dressed up as Han Solo for Halloween, Kimi dressed up as Yoda. A few weeks later Taran won tickets to a Matchbox 20 concert and asked Kimi to go with him. During sushi before the concert, we talked about how we got our names. Taran is named after a character from the Chronicles of Pyrdain, one of Kimi’s favorite book series growing up. It was fate
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?It’s hard to choose just one. While we’ve had incredible adventures together & traveled to amazing places, our favorite memories are when we’re collaborating together to create something - those are the moments that remind us we’re better together than apart. We’ve written songs together at 1am, Kimi learned the fiddle to play alongside Taran’s guitar, & now we perform Hawaiian music (Taran) & hula (Kimi) around the Pacific Northwest. We also love hosting, & throw pretty epic Halloween parties!
What would you do with $20,000?We would definitely use it for a down payment on a house, and try and start a family - while we have two wonderful dogs, we would also love to add a tiny human to our ohana!
