Connect How did your love story begin?

We met years before we ever dated when he stopped by my art booth at a local fair, bought a few pieces, and asked for my business card. We were both in relationships then, but over the years we kept running into each other around our neighborhood. After a bad breakup, he finally asked me out just as I had sworn off dating. Nine months later he proposed, we got married, and now we’re excitedly awaiting the arrival of our first baby.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is the day he proposed on a sunset cruise in Mexico. It was his first trip out of the country and, fittingly, also his birthday. With the sun setting over the water and a few celebratory drinks in, he got down on one knee—then promptly lost his balance and ended up on both knees instead. Between the laughter, the surprise, and the beautiful view, it was the perfect proposal and a moment we’ll cherish forever.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won the $20,000 America’s Favorite Couple Award, we’d put it toward one of our biggest dreams: opening our own restaurant in Alaska. My husband is a chef with a passion for creating memorable meals, and I’m a local business owner who loves building community. The prize money would help us take the next steps toward turning that dream into reality while creating a place where friends, families, and visitors can gather over great food for years to come.
