We met in Australia after both immigrating there from South Africa. I could pick out that strong accent from across the room and made sure to say hello. I was actually dating his friend at the time, but after he ghosted me, I definitely traded up! We've since moved to the US with our 1 year old and will continue our adventure here.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?You never truely get to know someone until you are stuck in a catastrophe together, then their true personaily shines through. We have travelled the world together and experienced many wonderful things, but nothing quite brings you closer together than trying to find another way out of a country when all flights are cancelled from local towns due to snowstorms and you're on a time crunch. Let's just say that after THAT bus ride in the middle of the night, he will never judge my driving again.
What would you do with $20,000?We probably should say something cool like 'buy a boat' or 'go on another international trip' but we actually think working hard towards something makes it more special when you get it. We would most likely donate most of it to a local animal shelter and use the rest to travel to a couple of local states to get to know our new home better.
