140 characters isn’t enough to describe our one of a kind love.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
August 4th, 2024. We went on our first official date to a food festival, and then a trampoline park. At the trampoline park, the walls we had up came down, and we saw each other for the first time. At the end of the night, we sat at a park that overlooked the Brooklyn Bridge. It was in that moment, that we fell in love. It was confirmed by us holding hands and the song "Birds of a Feather" playing as soon as we got back into the car and turned on the radio.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Traveling together. We've been on so many flights, and road trips. But the one that stands out as our favorite is our first trip, to Canada. This trip was perfect. Travel is usually stressful, but we maintained communication, worked together as a unit, and at the end of it all, this was the trip that made us official as a couple. We were on a date at the aquarium, sitting in front of the stingray exhibit, when Kye asked the question of "Will you be my girlfriend?"
What would you do with $20,000?Both of us are in the field of working with students with autism, as RBT's. Katie is a Special Education Teacher, and pursing her 2nd Masters degree in ABA/BCBA Therapy. Our plan is to use the money to kick start our own company for individuals with autism, that focuses on education as well as ABA/BCBA Therapy. Both of us want to support these individuals, and create an environment where they can learn, grow, and be supported in a world that doesn't value these individuals.
