Connect How did your love story begin?

Cassie(she/her) and Char (they/them). We first met at a trans day of visibility event in Roanoke, Cassie lived in a cabin at the time but would travel into the city, Char lived there and we just so happened to meet! We saw eachother clicked instantly and started chatting. We both have some strict food restrictions which can make dating hard, usually a dealbreaker but it was no problem for us. We now live in the city together with our dog Pretzel and our cats Pickles and Abby!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One morning after finding out Cassie was being let go from her job, we both drove up the Blue Ridge Parkway together. Cassie was following Chars car in her own and unplanned Char pulled over into an overlook and Cassie followed. We had a beautiful quiet moment there sitting in the grass holding each other and reassuring each other that everything will be okay. Cassie found a new job, moved in with Char, and the relationship blossomed from that point on even more beautifully than before.

What would you do with $20,000?

We want to use it to lift ourselves and other trans people in our circle into a better place. We don't make a ton of money despite both working and we would love to be able to live a little easier for a time and have pocket money to contribute to local mutual aid and other charitable causes. To contribute to the greater good, little bit of savings for emergencies, but also Cassie likes tattoos. Soooooooooo yeah vote for us if you want cool trans people to have money.
