The Adventures of Sunny & Lowell began with a spark neither of us saw coming. On our first date, Sunny shared her bucket list, beekeeping was on it. What she didn’t know? I already had a jar of honey waiting in the car as a little gift to remember me by. Fate, maybe. When she came to my place, a bee suit and honey super were ready, with our names written on it: “May our love be as sweet as this honey.” Sappy? Maybe. But this love truly is the sweetest thing I’ve ever known.

Our favorite memory? Renovating our 1902 home, Miss Main, named lovingly for her spot on Main Street. Together we’ve pulled up carpet to reveal stunning original wood floors, designed and installed a monogrammed tile bathroom floor, cleared a backyard jungle, and replaced it with whimsical flowerbeds. We’ve laughed, sweated, and created something beautiful. Oh, and we survived installing wallpaper together. That was the closest we’ve ever come to an actual argument. Still standing. Still in love

With $20,000 we’d tackle some debt and keep Miss Main’s renovations going, that 1902 beauty always has a next chapter. We’d try to purchase land to expand our bees and grow fruits and vegetables donated to our local food pantry. We have dreams of bringing kids out to learn beekeeping, gardening, and sustainable farming with a focus on soil health and composting food waste back into life. Sweet honey, good soil, fed neighbors.
