Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story began at a cousin’s wedding—one my mom insisted we attend because my brother was in it. At the end of the night, Steve asked me to dance. Of course, it had to be a slow song, he was sweaty from dancing all night! Even then, I had no idea that one dance would change the rest of my life. After the bride and groom left, Steve asked if I’d go dancing with him at the Santa Maria Inn, where we were staying. I said yes, and we danced and talked until 3:00am!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Of all the places we visited Israel holds a special place in my heart. We were there on the anniversary of Ryan’s passing, and it became a journey of faith, love and remembrance we had the incredible blessing to be baptized in the Jordan River and renew our vows in Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle turning water into wine. That trip reminded us that even in the midst of lost God brings Hope healing in new beginnings. It is a memory I will cherish forever.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we were fortunate enough to receive $20,000 I think we would donate back to 17 Strong, our son, Ryan founded 17 Strong and it’s mission continues to honor his legacy by bringing hope and dreams to others. Giving the funds back would allow his vision to continue making a difference in the Cancer community. We can’t think of a better way to honor Ryan by helping 17 Strong continue what he started.
