So I’ve been a bartender in Lake Tahoe for 20 years(also gigging with our local humane society). Back in 2010 Steve would come sit at my bar every Friday with his work buddies, not saying much. Mind you it’s NV land: 24hr booze mixed with a ski town, a recipe for long-term relationship disaster. One day I mentioned the Chicago Bears, and once he realized I liked football he all of a sudden wouldn’t stop talking.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our first date was the 2010 Spain vs Germany World Cup Final. I still remember it very well and was hooked from the get. Since then he’s taken me to two WC’s: Brazil 2014 and SF Bay Area just a few weeks ago. I grew up playing basketball in the Midwest and never really got into the game until my East coast husband with a Carnegie Mellon soccer scholarship. Our wedding in 2015 with a my Tahoe bartender gals and his CMU frat boys was also priceless.
What would you do with $20,000?We’re pretty damn lucky with how far we’ve come since meeting. Maybe take ourselves out to a nice dinner, bring our dog home a steak. Then we would put the rest of the $20k towards food acquisition for our local humane society’s pet food pantry. It would make a HUGE difference.
