Connect How did your love story begin?

Shawn and I met while working at the county justice center—he worked in the jail, and I was a dispatcher. He’d always find a way to flirt with me and even started showing up at the bar I’d visit after work. One day, after noticing I was having a rough day, he left two pink roses and a heartfelt note on my car. That simple act spoke volumes. When we finally went on our first date, I knew I’d found the person I wanted to spend my life with.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s impossible to pick just one favorite memory because every chapter of our life together has been special. If I had to choose, our wedding day stands out—especially dancing back down the aisle as husband and wife, surrounded by everyone we love. From everyday moments to big adventures, my favorite part of our relationship is making memories together, knowing the best are still ahead of us.

What would you do with $20,000?

Since buying our little piece of heaven, we’ve been slowly turning it into our dream home. If we won, we’d use it to finish some long-awaited updates, including remodeling the bathroom and replacing our old windows. It may not be glamorous, but investing in the home we’ve built together would mean everything to us and help bring our vision to life.
