How did your love story begin?

Our love story again at work we both work for the United States Postal Service. John was a manager and I was putting in for a position that he previously held. I contacted him to see if he could assist me with my application. He did come and assist me and from that day forward our relationship grew and we realize that we were meant to be together because we had everything in common.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My engagement. At 46 years old. I did not think that I was ever going to be married. John had an unhappy marriage and had explained to me that he was not going to remarry. I accepted that because I was completely in love. On my birthday in 2021 in DR he asked me to marry him on the beach wearing white pants. He kneeled down and I yelled at him and said what are you doing? You’re going to get your pants dirty. I thought he was joking, but he wasn’t and of course, I said yes.

What would you do with $20,000?

Of course we would do what normal people do and pay off some things that we need to pay and take a dream vacation probably to Greece. I’ve never been able to travel much because I took care of my mother who had Alzheimer’s. Another reason why I love my husband so much he was so patient and caring with her. She passed away in January 2026. So if we were able to, we would definitely travel to Greece.
