Connect How did your love story begin?

We met by chance and became unlikely friends in 2004, sharing our darkest and deepest feelings for 10 years before the opportunity to take the scary risk of becoming a couple. The second the attraction was sparked we moved in together and married by 2014. At that time we were each in a place where life was a hard reset. We had the chance to dream of what was possible, work on ourselves, learn new things and find education in everything. Against all odds, our connection was inevitable.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We have a few. Walking in the beach in Maui is a lucky moment we cherish every year while we have the chance, our time in the elephant sanctuary in Thailand splashing in the river with them, getting caught in a downpour after tacos and running through Mexico City in the rain, crying over the children we lost, getting keys to each new house because it is a physical manifestation of the growth we've had.

What would you do with $20,000?

We do not have children but our friends are our community. Our favorite thing to do is entertain and bring unexpected groups together. We find that opening our doors to all the interesting and unique individuals that might not otherwise meet. Amazing things happen when you provide open spaces for all that characters to collide, break bread and talk. Without an actual plan yet, hosting a series of discourse dinners for all the strangers that come into our orbit.
